4.1. Supported Bluetooth Hardware


Before you can talk to the desktop (or laptop) Bluetooth hardware, your desktop hardware has to be configured and tested to be functioning. There are several lists on the web that explain which Bluetooth devices are currently working with Linux and FreeBSD, and which devices are not.

One of the larger lists is maintained by Marcel Holtmann, and can be found here. Always check with the list before buying Bluetooth hardware, if you are unsure whether or not it works with Linux or FreeBSD.
