We have to "scan" for the desktop, from the Palm device. This is known as "interrogating" neighboring devices, and it will only find devices that are set as "discoverable". Let's see if we can find the desktop Bluetooth device.
Go to Prefs->Bluetooth, and tap on the "Trusted Devices" button at the bottom, and select "Add Device" as shown in Figure 6-1 and 6-2 below:
This may take a few seconds to locate devices in range. If your desktop was configured properly (more on that in a moment), it should find the Bluetooth hardware there, and display the status, as shown below:
My machine in this case, is named 'wrath', and it was successfully found by my Palm handheld.
If you got this far, the main hurdle is over. You just have to authorize this connection, establish it, and save it. Easy, once you know the passkey!
