As you probably noticed, when you are using Bluetooth with your Palm, sometimes it will power off on its own, which breaks the Bluetooth connection. Not only is this annoying, but it can cause data transfers to be abruptly aborted in the middle of operations (such as fetching mail to your Palm, downloading files with your Palm, and so on).
Not to worry! There is a way to fix this, with a third-party application called AutoOff.
If you want to stay connected (at the expense of battery life), just set AutoOff to "Always On", as shown above, and your Palm device will not turn off, severing your Bluetooth connection, unless you physically hit the power button to turn it off.
If you want to test your network connection, there is also a nice (free) "ping" implementation called "Mergic Ping".
Mergic Ping is a PalmOS implementation of the UNIX PING (ICMP Echo) program. It is very useful to test for the availability of specific private or public networked computers.
